Struck With Pain

In mourning for all those affected by the tsunami disaster. Pray for everything to stabilize quickly. To all those who can help the victims and their families in Sri Lanka, Myanmar, India, Indonesia, etc, please do help in kind. It's heart-wrenching to watch the people in these countries so helpless, stranded amongst debris and rubble..homeless, some orphaned, some child-less, some widowed. It's painful to watch them wail their hearts out, crying out for their loved ones. Although those who have perished in the disaster will not come back, please spare a kind thought for those bearing the huge burden of suffering from loss, disease and hunger. Pray for them, help them with what you can. Please.

Will update about Rondeau together with photos when I have more time.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

Here are some lines off some F.R.I.E.N.D.S' episodes.

Rachel (to Phoebe): You're a twin?
Phoebe: Oh yeah. We don't speak. She's like this high-powered, driven, career type.
Chandler: What does she do?
Phoebe: She's a waitress.

Ross: A thumb?
Phoebe: I know. I know. I opened it up, and there is was, just floating in there, like this tiny little hitch-hiker.
Chandler: Maybe it's a contest, you know, like, "collect all five."

Monica: Guys, we have to talk.
Phoebe: Wait. I'm getting a deja vu. No, I'm not.
Monica: Alright. We have to talk.
Phoebe: There it is!

HAhahA!! Oh I just love Phoebe. Okay lah, nuff for today. Hmm, you know what! I think i'll add a dialogue from F.R.I.E.N.D.S (damn, each time I do that, it slows down my momentum, with the dots and all.) at the end of my entry from now on, on top of the quotes. Inspiration and humour all in one!

Time and Tide Waits For No huMAN

What a difference a day makes, twenty four little hours...Time is so precious nowadays. Or is it always the case, just that we do not realize it until we need it? This reminds me of something my dad always say: Don't go looking for a toilet when it's coming out! Heheh..Now, to agree with Jamie Cullum and my Dad, time is always there, like THERE. It's up to us whether or not to utilize it in ways or other. Let's look at this. Boy A wants to complete a task, but feels lazy and decides to procrastinate. Therefore, he sleeps on it till the next day, or the day after. Girl B jumps on it immediately. Now, she has the whole weekend to spend leisurely. What does Boy A do now? He slogs the weekend, staying up late each night to complete that task which he could have done two days ago! But then, one has to realize that getting things done prim and proper on the dot doesn't make life any easier, nor fun. The thrill of going through the rush of it all is gone, and so does the spontaneity. I, personally, am selective about what I put in my immediate to-do list and the wait-till-another-time list. There ARE certain things that I KNOW I am able to finish by the time stipulated, which allows me to wait some time and then there are some tasks which are better to complete now than later, and by keeping it for later would be mindless. Such things I almost prefer to do it straightaway, no delays. I cannot fathom the ways some people go about doing things. People who don't realise that by doing a certain task straightaway would lead to getting other things down the road done too. But some idiot people, just don't see what I see and thus, delay everything. Now why am I preaching about time, you may ask. And I wonder seemingly too, as to why you're reading this. I regret to inform you that you've just wasted two minutes of your life reading this impertinent piece of useless information very proudly created by yours truly ;)

Concert Shmoncert...

What a disappointment...I was supposed to go to the Yuhua and River Valley Bands' Concert at the Esplanade in the afternoon. The thing is, I actually went there with Sister#2 (who thought that her friend was performing, little did we know that it was a concert ONLY by the alumni) only to be welcomed by a long queue. (It was already 2.45. The doors opened at 2 and concert commences at 3). Then I sms-ed Rizal to ask whether there was still place, but he was probably busy preparing and stuff. Then came the banshee's shreak of death-to-come. Yes, very dramatic I know. I was that disappointed. As I was saying, the banshee..this announcement thanking us; the people full of hope and sheer determination that we'd somehow manage to get seats, for our great interest in PopLite (the concert's name) and that the concert hall was approaching full house status. It was just a much more mild-mannered way of saying "Get out of here you pathetic people, Go Home!!" Then came this usher who walked down the queue, intermittently informing groups of concert-goers that we were not gauranteed of seats. Then came the final blow: Another announcement reiterating the fact that they were thankful for our great interest in the concert and that they regret to inform that the concert hall is FULL!! AAAHHHH!! Oh, the sheer disappointment...

Goo Factor

Not that I haven't realised that some people here are an uncouth bunch, but having had the experience with one of the many uncivil, it has brought me to a point to gripe here. Here's how it happened:

There I was on my way to the MRT station with my Mom. (NO, she WASN'T walking me to the station, she was going for her morning walk OKAY?) Then there was this middle-aged Chinese guy who was pushing a trolley about five paces ahead of us. He coughed and cleared his throat, and conveniently decides (or maybe subconsciously even) to spit his disgusting glob of phlegm on the walkway!! I mean, HOW GROSS!!!
Urgh..doesn't he have the mere decency to do that into a piece of tissue or something? The last time I was informed, spitting is a crime, ain't it? What if my mom and myself were not aware of that, and stepped on it?? Oh shudder....Even if he had spat onto the grass, it would be relatively okay (not that I am suggesting it's a better alternative, since spitting in public is an offence first and foremost. It's still a misdemeanour right? somebody update me please). It is just so unhygienic. Imagine the plethora of bacteria/viruses swarming the area around the glob looking for new hosts to infect. And can you fathom the gross-factor should you really come in contact with someone's gooey greenish glob?? God...I know it's hard to contain that thing in your mouth for a long time, because right now, I am having a bad bout of a clogged repiratory tract too. heh..But I don't go around spitting my fluids in public. Be considerate and have some decency for crying out loud people!

Gedebaam Gedeboom

Saturday was a long long day for me. I went to school early for sectionals, with band practice thereafter until 5 something..Left school after being caught up with Rondeau stuff. Hasinah, Ash and I headed off to Siti's house. A whole lot of us were there besides the three of us already mentioned. Sasi, Rekha,Mich, Joanne, Monica, Joyce, Perlyn and Sarah were all there. We watched White Chicks, Honey and half of Ju-On 2. Everybody cept Sasi, Rekha, Sarah and myself left before Ju-On. We only left close to 12. Pretty late for the hospitality..heheh..The food was good..Ayam Masak Merah..Mutton and Nasi Briyani...yumm..and all the kuih- kuih!

And today, in the afternoon, my family and I attended a Malay wedding! So, I had to eat similar dishes again. But hey, who's complaining when the food's goood..Haha! Mmmm..Mutton rendannnggg.......*Salivates*
